PROFILE
Mukanzubo Kalinda is a Cultural and research institute founded by the Zambia-Malawi Province of the Society of Jesus in Chikuni Mission. The institute was founded as a cultural research center for the Batonga people of southern province. Over the years the Institute has documented the history of the Batonga people both in print and audio. The institute has also published other documents and books that are being used in the Zambian educational sector as part of the Curricular. It is also a place where the youth and local community members come and learn their tradition through social counselling, interaction through dances, beadwork, cooking, and other survival skills of the Batonga culture.
GOALS

GOALS
- To preserve the Tradition and Culture of the Batonga people.
- To enable the young generations understand the context and content of the Batonga language
- To save and preserve the Batonga language for age groups to come through the academic fields of linguistics, oral literature and many others.
- To create a modern way for the Batonga people to learn traditional culture through technology and the production of audio and videotapes in Chitonga and English and publishing books in Chitonga for schools and the communities .
- Mukanzubo Kalinda Institute has published many books in Chitonga that are now part of the school curriculum.
- Recorded many traditional songs and dances.
- Recently published the Chitonga – English Dictionary which was made available to the public and educational institutions.
